Hello friends, art lovers, and patrons!
I am happy to say that after some time away from the studio this Spring, I now have five new prints to share! Please take a look on Page One of my Print Catalog.
In January participated with "Artists for Nature" in a project in Israel's Hula Valley, which is part of an important migration route for European birds. The Hula Valley is near the Sea of Galilee which we could see from the hotel. The valley with its remnant wetlands is remarkable for the numbers of birds that it supports. Five million birds migrate through the valley twice a year between Africa and Europe. In January cranes were the dominate species though far from the only ones. My prints, as well as the work of other Artist for Nature artists, will be used to help promote the conservation of this important resource.
I spent three weeks in Pennsylvania in May and June, and had a wonderful time birding on Cape May and the back roads from Pittsburg to Philadelphia. I had no idea how much wild country there still is on the East Coast. This September I will be at Birds in Art in Wisconsin and up to the Great lakes for a week. After that who knows, one of the nieces is moving to Alaska, another trip there would be rewarding, but for now there are works waiting in the studio to be completed.
Now back to the studio! Yours, Andrea Rich
